Based on the correspondence between early 20th-century Russian avant-garde composer Alexander Scriabin, and his muse and mistress Tatiana, Opus D'Amour questions the notion of "togetherness" by exploring how two people can be physically apart, but artistically or mentally together -and all this, in an era when instantly updating your status with your smartphone was impossible, and instead you had to wait weeks -or even months- for the envelope to arrive...
Opus D’Amour enjoyed a sold-out premiere at the Baryshnikov Arts Center in 2008. The production, featuring Ana Perea & Kyle Knauf, was reprised at Montvale Community Center, NJ, in 2009 and at the Salty Women Festival - Saltbox Theatre Workshop, Westchester, NY, in 2010.
